Greetings from the other side
Hi all. I hope you are all doing well. I suspect that we still have some anxious times ahead, but lets hope for the best.
I have modified the schedule for the last month of class. The idea would be to read, and comment on, some of the most notable papers left in the volume. You may have others you wish we had read - feel free to post thoughts/comments on those as well. This is your blog.
The way this will be most effective is if each POST is devoted to a single paper -or question/thought, and COMMENTS are made on those posts. While this site is set up so that anyone can write a comment, only authors can write a post. Hence, I've set you up as authors.
I'd like to suggest that the folks in charge of a week aim to get their posts up by Monday. The rest of you should aim to comment on those as you can during the week. My (optional) virtual office hours/discussion time will be on Thursday at 1pm, which should be after most of you have had a chance to read/discuss/post thoughts. If you want to talk 'in person' about the papers of the week - or anything macroecology related- we can do so on Thursday. But, you don't have to attend these sessions if you have other responsibilities.
By the way, I don't have access to the sign- up list for papers. Thus, please edit the schedule page to add your name in the appropriate place - or to sign up for a paper. And, since I seem to be posting gratuitous pictures of pets, go ahead and send me a picture I can rotate in place of Nimbus (the fabulous white fluffy cat you are currently looking at).
